Maple tarts

Ingrédients :

Crust
10 cooked 4″ tarts, sweetened or neutral

Topping
¼ cup (60g) butter or margarine
1/3 cup (45g) all-purpose flour
1 ½ cup maple syrup
½ cup hot water
Whipped cream (optional)
Nuts (optional)

Marche à suivre :

Crust

  1. Cook tarts according to package instructions.

Topping

  1. Melt butter in pot over low heat.
  2. Add flour a little at a time and remove from heat.
  3. Add maple syrup and water while stirring.
  4. Return to stovetop and cook over medium heat until mixture thickens.
  5. Lower heat and cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and let rest 15 minutes.
  7. Pour into cooked, cooled crusts.
  8. Garnish with whipped cream and nuts, if desired.
